David Stott has more than 20 years of experience in property law in both Australia and the UK, assisting a diverse range of public, private and local government clients with their property transactions and related commercial advice.
An Accredited Specialist in Property Law, David's substantial experience spans property advice and transactions related to off-the-plan developments, property acquisition, lease development and strata law. Over the years, industries that David has worked across include infrastructure/roads, local government, strata, telecommunications, sporting, hospitality and mining.
More recently his substantial experience includes drafting and advisory work in relation to complex mixed use lease and development agreements involving put and call options and agreements for lease, involving major national retailers, national and local developers including stratum and strata title subdivisions.
David takes pride in demystifying complex contracts and documents, working with clients to understand their unique needs and priorities so that he can provide prompt, practical and tailored advice.
David is a dual-qualified solicitor after originally being admitted in England and Wales in 2002. He practised in Leeds until his move to Australia where he qualified as a solicitor in NSW in 2006.
Passionate about property law and professional development, David is a former chair of the NSW Law Society's Strata CLE presentation programs. In 2015, he was the Key Note Speaker at a Western Sydney Breakfast Symposium, discussing the major reforms to the Strata Law legislation which were introduced in November 2016.
