Rupal Patel is a Lawyer in Coleman Greig’s Family Law Team. With over 14 years’ experience in family law, Rupal has a particular interest in divorce, parenting disputes and property disputes.
Rupal understands that navigating the legal system can be difficult for clients and matters are often of a sensitive nature. Therefore, Rupal develops a relationship of trust and respect with clients so they feel confident in her ability to advocate for their interests.
Having worked throughout her legal career with clients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, Rupal excels at tailoring her communication style to best meet their needs. She has also worked with victims of family violence and/or abuse and people with mental health issues due to genetic conditions, substance abuse or injury. Her goal when working with clients is to achieve the best possible result, with the least delay.
Rupal is a big believer in respectful and clear communication and setting realistic expectations. She always deals with clients in an empathetic manner and is able to build a good rapport with them.
Prior to joining Coleman Greig, Rupal worked in Consumer law and in various roles within the Family Court and Federal Circuit Court of Australia. She has a sound knowledge and understanding of court procedures and practices. Rupal promotes alternative dispute resolution and mediation.
Part of the committee during the development of the Digital Court File and the Commonwealth Court’s Portal, Rupal played an important role in providing feedback and improvements to the system. She also maintained the Client Service System for the staff at the National Enquiry Centre of the Family Court and Federal Circuit Court of Australia and wrote blogs on updates to various Court procedures and practices.
In her spare time, Rupal enjoys spending quality time with family and friends and enjoys going for walks with her dog.
