Alexandra Tsingoida is a Lawyer in Coleman Greig's Family Law team. She works across all areas of family law, with skills in divorce, separation, de-facto relationships, property settlement, superannuation and a particular interest in parenting matters including child relocation matters.
Alexandra understands the emotional stress that many clients experience in family law situations, so whenever possible she will endeavour to reach the client’s needs and avoid court and seek to resolve matters through alternative dispute resolution.
Having worked with clients from a variety of cultural backgrounds and extremely distressed parents in high-conflict separations, Alexandra takes an empathetic approach. Clients describe her as approachable and patient.
Alexandra always provides her clients with an overview of the various approaches that could be taken to progress a matter forward, and the likely range of outcomes for each approach, to ensure that her clients are fully informed when making decisions and providing their instructions. This means, not only providing the client with a clear pathway of how she believes the matter would best be resolved, but also going through hypotheticals in relation to how the other side may conduct themselves and what impact that will have on how the matter progresses.
Some examples of some recent matters that Alexandra has assisted clients with include:
- Binding Financial Agreements – preparation and enforcement;
- Child relocation; and,
- Same sex property settlement where the other party was denying the existence of a de-facto relationship.
Alexandra genuinely cares about her client’s well-being and has, in the past, assisted them in dealing with the emotional stress that comes with separation by linking them to various services that can provide support.
She enjoys writing about legal topics in plain English so that clients and the wider community can be informed and kept informed with developments and interesting cases in Family Law.
Passionate about giving back to the community, Alexandra has previously volunteered at various community legal centres.
Outside of work, Alexandra enjoys reading, dancing and watching crime documentaries.
