Sarah Newman is a Principal Lawyer in Coleman Greig’s Commercial Property team.
With over 20 years’ experience in retail, commercial and industrial leasing, Sarah has acted for landlords and tenants in relation to drafting and negotiating leases, assignments and surrenders of leases. She also has extensive experience in residential and commercial conveyancing – acting for both purchasers and vendors, including company title purchases and sales, and off-the-plan purchases.
Sarah’s client base is varied, from large corporate clients, to sporting athletes, to high net-worth individuals, some of whom reside interstate or overseas. Her dedication to her clients is second to none, with many of her clients’ children eventually seeking her advice as they get older.
With a strong network of referring agents in both the residential and commercial space, Sarah deeply values all of her working and client relationships. A big believer in keeping things simple and using plain English, Sarah’s clients often say that she is not like other lawyers and is a breath of fresh air.
Sarah has advised on two separate unit purchases in the iconic Crown Casino residences and was also the sole lawyer overseeing leasing for a regional shopping centre for 16 years. In the past, Sarah has also been involved in volume landlord leasing, including acting for large owners of shopping centres and office buildings such as Australia Post, AMP, Centro and ISPT.
Sarah is currently the President of the North Metropolitan Law Society, which holds monthly CPD dinner meetings and other networking functions.
Outside of work, Sarah is an avid motorcyclist, which has seen her ride from Perth to Sydney, around Tasmania, Malaysia and New Caledonia as well as earning a couple of trophies at the racetrack. Her passion has also allowed Sarah to raise money for various causes over the years. She is also a member of WIRES and is licensed to rescue and care for injured wildlife.
