Daniel Rod is an Associate working within Coleman Greig’s Family Law team.
Throughout his time as a family lawyer, Daniel has represented numerous high net-worth clients in matters relating to complex parenting and property situations, international family law, binding financial agreements and mediation.
Having previously run his own practice, Daniel has expertise across a wide variety of aspects of Family Law. Some of his highlights include acting in an international child abduction matter for a regional governor of a large African country and helping families where the grandparents were second and third respondents. Daniel also has extensive experience in appearing in final and interim hearings, conciliation conferences, directions hearings, divorce applications and contested subpoena hearings as well as in briefing and instructing counsel.
Daniel’s clients appreciate his no-nonsense approach to family law, which empowers his clients to move forward with dignity. Daniel’s unique ability to tailor his advice according to his client needs and individual circumstance is greatly valued. He believes that it is important to build rapport, trust, and understanding when forming relationships with clients. Daniel loves using technology to help clients understand complicated terms and will often use diagrams, charts and spreadsheets that help clients see how the law applies to them specifically.
Whilst being warm and loyal to his clients, Daniel is also a formidable opponent that knows his way around litigation. Daniel is passionate about helping clients achieve great outcomes without going to Court. If Court is unavoidable, he fights hard for his clients to achieve great results fairly, and with integrity. He has a particular interest in working with victims of family violence and matters where there are hidden assets.
Daniel has previously authored articles on various family law topics and has presented at various Legal Wise seminars. He is also the author of the LEAP Best Practice Guidelines for Family Law and was responsible for designing the accreditation process for Family Law firms.
Outside of work, Daniel enjoys reading, programming and is a massive fan of Bruce Springsteen.
