Tracey Kumar is a Lawyer working within Coleman Greig’s Wills & Estate Planning team.
Tracey’s strong accounting background allows her to holistically evaluate her client’s circumstances whilst effectively working alongside financial advisors and accountants to ensure that her client’s estate planning is both tax effective and allows for asset protection.
Tracey believes that clear and consistent communication is key to achieving desired outcomes for all of her clients. She will often visually map out her client’s structures to ensure they have a thorough understanding and appreciation of the benefits and also the potential risks of their current structures.
Working with small to medium sized enterprises, developers, high-net-worth individuals, executors to families and their advisors has enabled Tracey to see the bigger picture in various situations and think ahead for her clients.
Tracey has achieved many successful outcomes for clients in the following situations:
- Converting discretionary trusts to fixed trusts for land tax;
- Obtaining various stamp duty concessions;
- Implementation of limited recourse borrowing arrangements;
- Remission of penalties and interest; and,
- Application of the Commissioner of Taxation’s discretion in relation to Division 7A.
A regular presenter at various tax discussion groups, Tracey has also authored various blogs on estate planning, probate, amending trust deeds for foreign surchargers and SMSF refinancing.
Tracey is a participant in the Young Lawyers Animal Law Committee and co-hosts annual fundraising dinners for various Australian animal sanctuaries.
Outside of work, Tracey enjoys reading, cooking and yoga.
