James Ferguson is an Associate within Coleman Greig’s Litigation & Disputes Resolution Team. Throughout his time with Coleman Greig, James’ work has primarily focused on commercial areas of law including, but not limited to:
- complex contractual disputes (including urgent ex parte applications);
- debt recovery;
- bankruptcy and insolvency; and
- leasing disputes.
James regularly advises a wide range of clients – such as companies, individuals, insolvency practitioners, strata managers and government agencies – and has successfully advocated for his clients in both State and Federal jurisdictions. Having completed a Bachelor of Business and Commerce, James understands the commercial realities facing many businesses and takes a pragmatic approach to all matters in order to achieve successful commercial outcomes for his clients. James boasts a well-earned reputation for both accuracy and efficiency across all aspects of his work and, having previously spent time working within Barristers’ chambers, has a thorough understanding of Court processes. James uses his experience and understanding to guide his clients through the litigation process with a clear strategy in place.
James believes that the key to a strong lawyer/client relationship is the ability to communicate effectively, and above all – openly, throughout all stages of a matter. This communicative ability is not only something that he both actively focusses and prides himself on – but that has driven him to follow the path of Litigation & Dispute Resolution.
Alongside his professional achievements, James is a keen Wallabies supporter and loves all things Western Sydney. He has been a key participant in the Coleman Greig Challenge, and is also a member of the Western Sydney Young Professionals group.
