Australian-Law-Awards-2019

Principal Lawyers Malcolm Gittoes-Caesar and Andrew Grima have been named Finalists in the Lawyers Weekly Partner of the Year Awards

Coleman Greig is thrilled to announce that the Head of Family Law and Principal/Director Malcolm Gittoes-Caesar has been named a finalist in the ‘Partner of the Year’ and ‘Wellness Advocate of the Year’ category in the Lawyers Weekly Partner of the Year Awards. Challenge founder and Head of Commercial Property, Andrew Grima has also been recognised as a finalist in the ‘Wellness Advocate of the Year’ category. These are the fifth annual Partner of the Year Awards.

The Lawyers Weekly’s Partner of the Year Awards showcases outstanding performance by partners, or partners equivalent, across individual practice areas within the Australian legal profession.

“The Partner of the Year Awards is all about acknowledging those at the top of their game—the best partners in Australia who exude the highest level of technical expertise, finesse and leadership capabilities,” said Lawyers Weekly editor Emma Ryan. “This year’s finalists represent the elite in each practice area, with their work making an invaluable contribution to their firms, clients and the community alike.

Head of Family Law Malcolm Gittoes-Caesar said that, “Family law is an extraordinarily challenging area, and it is often impossible to know whether you, and your team, are making a difference. For the dedicated (and awesome) Coleman Greig Family Law team, this award serves as recognition of the great job that we are doing, and I personally feel grateful for my achievements being acknowledged.”

Also known as a mental health advocate, Malcolm Gittoes-Caesar shared that “one of the real positives of both my role, and where I work, is the platform I am given to talk about things that I am passionate about, and to effect change. Mental health difficulties in lawyers are all pervasive and ever increasing, and I am so grateful that my Partners welcome the opportunities that I am given to discuss my own mental health history, and to help my team, my clients, and the wider profession, in decreasing the effects of those difficulties.  For those efforts to be recognised with this award inspires me to double down on those efforts.”

Coleman Greig Challenge Founder Andrew Grima said “the nomination gives me the opportunity to promote within the profession and amongst my colleagues the notion that it is not all about the individual and what they can take, but instead to give to others of your time, energy and passion to improve their lives. I hope this nomination serves as an example to my younger colleagues in particular.”

Award winners will be announced on Friday, 27 November 2020 at 7pm.

In the meantime, we extend our congratulations and well wishes to all the finalists.
