2010 Events

March 2010 – A Conversation with Melissa Doyle and Lisa McGuigan

The first Women in Business Forum for 2010 featured two highly successful, yet very different, women.

Melissa Doyle, journalist, breakfast television presenter, sought-after speaker and co-author of a book on achieving work-life balance, will provide an insight into her career and the road to becoming one of the most recognised and respected presenters on Australian television.   She also discussed the difficulties she faces in trying to balance work and family and gave a light-hearted summary of the impact her career has on her personal life.

Following her key-note presentation, Melissa then conducted an on-stage interview with Lisa McGuigan - fourth generation member of the famous Hunter Valley wine-making family and successful entrepreneur in her own right.

This particular Women in Business Forum raised money for one Melissa Doyle’s chosen causes: the Westmead Children’s Hospital, of which she serves as Ambassador.

May 2010 – Nice Work! Lunch with Jana Wendt

In May 2010 Coleman Greig was delighted to host Jana Wendt at the Women in Business lunch.

Jana was launching her new book "Nice Work" which follows the working lives of an eclectic group of people, witnessing their successes and frustrations, the body blows and moments of joy experienced by people who consider what they do as the great passion of their lives.

Guests received a complimentary copy of Jana’s book as well as the chance to hear first hand from one of Australia's most experienced journalists, what motivated her to discover what drives us in the work we do.

Fashion Targets Breast Cancer Lunch

The Women in Business Forum hit a fashion high note with a special guest appearance by internationally renowned Australian designer Collette Dinnigan!

Over 200 women, and some of their brave male colleagues, attended the sold-out lunch where guests heard firsthand what inspires, motivates and drives Collette Dinnigan – arguably our most successful fashion export - as she was interviewed live on stage by Deborah Thomas.

In keeping with the focus on fashion and style the event had the theme “Black & White.... With a Touch of Pink” and guests were encouraged to dress accordingly.  We also ran a series of fundraising activities in support of the Fashion Targets Breast Cancer Campaign and raised $10,230 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
