Karin Adcock

Biography

Karin Adcock is the President of PANDORA Jewelry PTY Ltd Australia and New Zealand, which is the Subsidiary of PANDORA Copenhagen.

PANDORA is a designer, manufacturer, marketer and distributor of hand finished and modern jewellery made from genuine materials – primarily sterling silver, gold, precious and semi‐precious stones and Murano glass. As at 1st January 2011, PANDORA was sold in 57 countries on six continents through approximately 10,000 points of sale, including over 400 PANDORA branded concept stores.

The collectible charm bracelets made from sterling silver and gold and charms made from different genuine materials, which are featured in our Moments Collection, constitute our core product offering. In addition, we offer other pieces of jewellery, such as rings, bracelets, necklaces and earrings, through our Moments, Stories, Compose, LovePods and Liquid Silver Collections.

PANDORA was founded in 1982 in Copenhagen, Denmark and today employs over 4,500 people worldwide, of whom more than 3,300 are located in Gemopolis, Thailand, where PANDORA manufactures its jewellery.

PANDORA was listed on NASDAQ Copenhagen in October 2010.

PANDORA in Australia was launched from a garage in Avalon in 2004. Through hard work and determination, and despite many setbacks and rejections along the way, 40 retailers across Australia embarked on stocking PANDORA the first year of operation.

In 2006 the office was moved to a proper office in Mona Vale and eventually to larger premises in Warriewood in 2007.

Karin Adcock has steered PANDORA through a period of intense growth – turnover quadrupled in the company’s second year and it has achieved a strong growth ever since. The company is now one of the biggest employers on the Northern Beaches with over 300 employees, more than 500 retailers stocking PANDORA across Australia and New Zealand.

With strategic and well-placed marketing, Karin and her close-knit and dedicated team have grown brand awareness of PANDORA from zero in 2004, to achieving a prompted brand awareness of 89% in 2011. PANDORA is now one of the most recognised jewellery brands in the region and the third biggest jewellery brand in the world.

Over the last couple of years PANDORA opened Flagship stores in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Gold Coast and Sydney Airport and has developed a Franchise network with stores across Australia.

In 2009 Karin and Brook Adcock received the Diploma of the Danish Export Association and His Royal Highness Prince Henrik’s Medal of Honour. The Medal was awarded in honour of the team’s outstanding success in developing sales and brand awareness of the Danish-owned Brand PANDORA in Australia and New Zealand.

In 2010 Karin Adcock was awarded the winner of the Telstra Business Women’s Awards for New South Wales.
