Accredited Specialist, Family Law
Stephanie Lee is an Accredited Specialist in Family Law with over 10 years of experience successfully advising and representing clients in this specialist area of practice.
Highly skilled in all aspects of family law, including property disputes, maintenance, parenting issues, relocation, child support, consent orders and financial agreements, Stephanie also has considerable expertise in managing complex financial settlements and "detangling" a couple's financial affairs. As a result, she has assisted many clients who have family businesses, trusts and large asset portfolios and require a family lawyer that understands the many business and taxation implications of separation.
As the structure of the modern family evolves and 'blended' families are becoming more common, it is also important to obtain advice tailored to what are often very complex circumstances. Stephanie's substantial experience means she is able to provide trusted advice and solutions to all of her clients in accordance with their unique individual circumstances during what is often a difficult period in the lives of clients and their children.
Stephanie is a Collaborative Professional who has been specifically trained to assist parties in reaching a family law agreement out of Court. She often works with professionals from other disciplines such as accountants or financial advisors and family therapists to ensure a holistic or comprehensive approach to achieving the best outcome for her clients. An experienced litigator where necessary, Stephanie has also successfully represented clients in Court over the broad spectrum of family law issues, including jurisdictional challenges and complicated parenting matters.
As one of only a handful of Accredited Specialists in Family Law in NSW that can speak conversational Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese), Stephanie regularly looks after clients from the Chinese community with their family law issues and enjoys the chance to combine her knowledge and understanding of the Chinese culture with her legal skills and experience. Stephanie's network also extends to those involved in the Chinese business community and she is often asked to assist in providing advice and representation in this context.
Her commitment to the local community has seen Stephanie volunteer as a pro bono solicitor at the Inner City Legal Centre, as well as assisting disadvantaged women with family law issues via the Women's Legal Service NSW. She has also presented a number of seminars for other legal practitioners and has had work published by LexisNexis.
