Cadetship program with UWS proves success in Western Sydney

Western Sydney is in a prime position to offer employees not only an opportunity to work close to home and have a better work life balance but also to have a rewarding and fulfilling career.

At Coleman Greig Lawyers, we are playing our part in attracting quality talent to the region by offering a cadetship program to UWS students.

The Coleman Greig Cadetship Program, which has been operating for over 15 years, offers Western Sydney based law students a kick start to their careers by providing financial assistance for educational resources and the opportunity to work at Coleman Greig while studying for their degrees.

UWS graduates Racha Abboud and Anna Ford, having been through the cadetship program, have worked at Coleman Greig for over ten years and as a result of their contributions to the firm and wider community, they have been appointed Associates of the firm.

Coleman Greig Managing Principal Peter Stewart, also a UWS graduate said “Their appointment is a great reflection on our cadetship program and the opportunities it delivers for students studying law at UWS.”

“Both Racha and Anna grew up in Western Sydney and live locally and this appointment puts them on the right track to become leaders within the legal profession in Western Sydney.”

Many of the graduates of the cadetship program have gone on to become professional lawyers within our firm. Six UWS graduates are employed as professional staff, with a further five current UWS law undergraduates undertaking cadetship placements.

Over the last six months Coleman Greig has appointed seven new lawyers with the most recent appointments including Jacob Bozdas and Stephanie Barnes to the commercial advice team, Nadia Messiah to the family law team and Associate Rosemary Carreras to the property law team. Our firm is truly redefining the depth of career opportunities for the legal industry in Western Sydney.
